da Vinci Film Festival awards annouced Comments
A message from da Vinci Days director Brenda Van Develder:
The 2009 da Vinci Film Festival had many highlights and we hosted fifteen visiting filmmakers from Oregon, Illinois, Washington and California for the three day festival on March 6,7,and 8.
Attendees commented on the high quality of films screened and the feeling of being transported into the world of independent film for the whole weekend. They were challenged, entertained and inspired.
Our weekend attendance was just over 500 and we hit all of our goals for this year including at capacity venues, increased box office sales and multiple screenings of the films. We are seeking more community members to be a part of the planning efforts for the da Vinci Film Festival, especially those who are passionate about independent film. A selection of this year’s films will be screened this summer as part of da Vinci Days. A complete schedule will be available on the da Vinci Film Festival web site in May: www.davincifilmfest.org.
